David Warlick over at Techlearning blog published a provocative piece entitled "A Letter from the Principal". David lays out a dire picture of a disconnect he sees between the current teach-to-the-NCLB goals of schools and what children need now in order to be citizens in the near future. What makes the piece doubly interesting is the format. He writes as if he’s a principal and this is going home with the kids in Friday folders. This is not a spoof, but rather a serious call for schools to get moving and an appeal to parents to provide a kickstart.
