Students from the Savannah College of Art and Design and California State Polytechnic University at Pomona have taken top honors in a computer-security video contest sponsored by the National Cyber Security Alliance and Educause, the higher-education technology consortium.

For the competition, students across the country were asked to create public-service announcements about computer security that can be screened for incoming students. Nathan Blair, the Savannah College student, directed "Superhighway Safety" — a moody piece that uses editing trickery to represent the dangers of computer viruses. And a trio of students at Pomona masterminded "Bob, You’ve Been Phished," a comical warning that depicts online scammers as shifty, cartoonish thieves.

Both of the prizewinning teams earned $1,000 for their efforts.
