Top 10 ed tech trends for 2006
Published by Barry Brahier January 17th, 2006 in UncategorizedDave Cormier of the University of Prince Edward Island and a host for the Ed Tech Talk Show webcast was interviewed by J.K. Valenza of the Philadelphia Inquirer in an article published Jan. 8. Dave’s top 10 are, in ascending order of importance:
- Blackboard’s takeover of WebCT
- Moodle
- Web 2.0
- The release of OpenOffice 2.0
- A renewed debate on "What do we do about students being on the Internet?"
- Podcasting
- The $100 laptop
- Wikipedia as a news source
- Firefox
- Browser-based applications (ex., Writerly, Odeo)
I think Dave has a fine list (two of my favs made it!), and his reasoning is good. What are your top ten?
Thanks to John at education futures for the tip.
