Principal for a Day- A New Twist

Usually, it involves a civic leader or businessperson who comes to school and shadows the principal for one school day. Can it make a difference? On occasion, perhaps, but it’s a rare individual who can really grasp education issues in just a few hours.
New York City Schools took a different tact this year. Anyone who wanted to participate in the program needed to make a year-long commitment to the school. Read more about it in this New York Times article.
