$100 Laptop Update 3

- The first prototype will be shown on November 17 at the World Summit on the Information Society in Tunis.
- By 2007, the target is to be shipping 150 million units to the world annually. This is three times the number of notebooks shipped by all producers now.
- The project is currently working with China, Brazil, Thailand, Egypt, and South Africa.
- Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney has sought to purchase the laptops for all schoolchildren in MIT’s home state.
