To date, 192 cases of illness due to E. coli infection have been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), including 30 cases of Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS), 98 hospitalizations, and one death.

FDA Statement on Foodborne E. coli O157:H7 Outbreak in Spinach

Se continúa investigando un brote de infecciún producida por la E. coli O157:H7. La Administraciún de Drogas y Alimentos (FDA) trabajando estrechamente con los CDC y el estado de California, ha determinado que la espinaca implicada en el brote se cultivo en estos tres condados en California: Monterrey, San Benito, y Santa Clara. Espinaca cultivada en el resto de los EE UU no ha sido implicada en este brote de E. coli 0157:H7. El público puede estar seguro que la espinaca cultivada en áreas que no han sido comprometidas se puede consumir.

(CDC), including 27 cases of Hemolytic Uremic
Syndrome (HUS), 83 hospitalizations, and one death. Illnesses continue
to be reported to CDC. Investigation narrowed to 3 California counties.

This document is being issued as Level 1 guidance pursuant
to 21 CFR 10.115 and includes answers to inquiries
regarding the implementation of the Establishment and Maintenance
of Records Final Rule (21 CFR Part 1, Subpart J).
The final rule implements Section 306 of the Public Health Security
and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002.

To date, 146 cases of illness due to E. coli infection
have been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC), including 23 cases of Hemolytic Uremic
Syndrome (HUS), 76 hospitalizations, and one death. Illnesses continue
to be reported to CDC.

To date, 131 cases of illness due to E. coli infection
have been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC), including 20 cases of Hemolytic Uremic
Syndrome (HUS), 66 hospitalizations, and one death. Illnesses continue
to be reported to CDC.
